Theresa Bornbach
Founder/Principal
Capstone Charity Resources

Theresa is the founder and principal of Capstone Charity Resources - a Cedar Rapids based company that provides charitable solicitation services to nonprofits around the world.   Capstone removes the headaches and hassles associated with understanding and completing mandated charitable registration paperwork and regulatory filings in each state, enabling nonprofits to not get distracted by administrative functions so that they can be fully engaged with their mission.

Prior to founding Capstone Charity Resources, Theresa was a Business Support Strategist with the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance; founder and manager of the Business Exchange Center; Chief Effectiveness Officer, Business & Executive Coach with BizSAVVY; President of Transitions Made Better; Vice President, Regulatory Affairs for Alliant Energy; and Director of Marketing & Sales Support with Source Data Systems, Inc.

Theresa earned her BA in Business Administration, Psychology and Spanish at Coe College and a Masters of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.  She holds a Certification of Executive Leadership from Harvard University, John G. Kennedy School of Government and a Certification of Finance for Non-Financial Executives from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.

Theresa is passionate about giving back to our community.  She is a member of Junior Achievement of East Central Iowa’s board of trustees and active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals along with being a former Y board member.

A couple of fun facts – First, I bet you didn’t know that Theresa has bungee-jumped from the original location in New Zealand where bungee-jumping was first invented.  Second, for all those basketball fans out there - Theresa has met Michael Jordan.  They both happened to be staying at the same hotel in Toronto the same year Jordan’s team had the most wins of any team in the NBA!

On a personal note, Theresa is married to Keith.  Together they have 6 children and 3 grandchildren.
